Fall Yoga Retreat Near Toronto: A Weekend of Rest, Nature & Stillness
Stillness on the Ridge — Midland, Ontario
October 16–18, 2026
This October, Jacqueline and I will be facilitating Stillness on the Ridge, a quiet retreat at Sugar Ridge Retreat Centre in Midland, Ontario.
This retreat is designed for anyone who feels like they could use a little less noise and a little more space.
What does “quiet retreat” mean?
Quiet doesn't mean you there is no talking.
It simply means that there will be minimal conversation in the studio, creating more space to settle, listen, and turn inward. Outside of classes, you're welcome to chat over meals, during downtime, or while exploring the property.
This retreat may be for you if you...
Are feeling overwhelmed and craving some peace and quiet
Want to spend more time in nature and move at a slower pace
Are looking for time away from distractions to reconnect with yourself
Want to explore different listening and mindfulness practices
Want to practice yoga and movement that help you feel grounded in your body
Simply need a weekend to rest
Fall is such a beautiful season for this kind of retreat. It's a natural time to slow down, turn inward, and notice the changes happening around us.
What will the weekend include?
Our time together will include a combination of restorative and grounding practices. There will be 6 classes in studio including yoga, soundbaths, meditation and mindful movement. There will be nature wanders and a creative activity offered as well.
The studio sessions will be intentionally relaxing and spacious, giving you opportunities to slow down rather than adding another busy schedule to your weekend.
For those who would like extra care, there will also be the option to add a craniosacral session or massage therapy treatment.
You can participate as much or as little as feels right for you!!
About Sugar Ridge
Sugar Ridge is nestled among maple and cedar forests in the Midland area, making it a beautiful place to spend a fall weekend.
The property has approximately 25 km of accessible trails to explore, so there is plenty of opportunity to get outside between sessions.
Accommodations include cabins and domes surrounding the main retreat centre, with options for private, shared, and semi-private accommodations.
Meals are fresh, nourishing, and vegan, with plenty of opportunity to sit down together and enjoy a meal without having to think about what you're going to cook next.
A Weekend to Slow Down
I think we often wait until we're completely exhausted before giving ourselves permission to rest.
A retreat doesn't have to be something you “need” to justify. Sometimes it's simply an opportunity to step away from your usual environment, spend time in nature, move your body, breathe, and give yourself some space.
That's really the intention behind Stillness on the Ridge.
Not to fill your weekend with more things to accomplish, but to create enough space that you can notice what you actually need.
Meet Your Facilitators
Melanie Cundari
I'm a physiotherapist, movement trainer, and facilitator of breathwork and sound baths. I love slowing down in nature and creating spaces where people can prioritize comfort, rest, and connection.
My approach to movement is grounded in helping people feel more connected to their bodies—not simply pushing through or doing more.
Jacqueline Couto
Jacqueline creates thoughtful, welcoming spaces where people can slow down and reconnect with themselves. She teaches a range of yoga traditions, facilitates sound baths and Moon Circles, and brings warmth and intention to every session.
Together, we're hoping to create a weekend that feels gentle, spacious, and restorative.
